Project Engineer

About the role

The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing and monitoring activities on assigned construction projects in Abu Dhabi, ensuring that site works are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality and safety standards. The role acts as the main liaison between Makani Power, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Projects Director and Senior Projects Manager in developing and monitoring detailed project schedules.
• Serve as the primary on‑site point of contact for contractors, consultants and the development team.
• Track project progress against the baseline programme and flag potential delays.
• Coordinate site logistics such as access, security, signage, welfare facilities and movement.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor manpower, productivity and performance.
• Follow up on material purchases, technical sub‑mittals, approvals, inspections and deliveries.
• Attend regular site meetings and escalate issues related to progress, quality, logistics or engineering.
• Ensure site activities comply with approved method statements, quality requirements and safety standards.
• Supervise day‑to‑day site activities and provide technical support as needed.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, environmental regulations and local authority approvals.
• Support value‑engineering initiatives and maintain coordination with all project parties.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant project management or construction experience.
• Strong experience in site execution and contractor/consultant coordination.
• Familiarity with government and local‑authority approval processes.
• Proven ability to develop and monitor detailed project timelines.
• Excellent communication skills in English and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
