Project Engineer

About the role

Dawam Business Solutions is looking for a Project Engineer in Jabel Ali Free Zone to support the design and execution of municipal projects. The role leads project management support, parts and components selection and specification review, and supports project management in a technical capacity, assisting with field service when required.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret process designs, P&IDs, hydraulic profiles, equipment layouts and specifications, and support process, mechanical, electrical and I&C engineers during detailed design
• Perform or coordinate equipment sizing and selection (pumps, membranes, filters, chemical systems) and check vendor drawings, data sheets and calculations against regulatory standards (EPA, AWWA, NSF, local codes)
• Act as technical liaison between engineering, procurement, fabrication and operations, track deliverables against schedule, and support construction work packages and installation details
• Take part in design reviews, constructability reviews and HAZOPs, and manage RFIs, technical clarifications and field change requests
• Support technical bid evaluations, coordinate supplier fabrication schedules, review FAT procedures and results, and support expediting and logistics
• Provide on-site engineering support during construction, resolve field issues, approve as-built drawings and support inspections and quality control
• Help develop commissioning and startup plans, take part in testing and troubleshooting, and verify performance against design criteria and contract guarantees

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, civil or mechanical engineering (or equivalent)
• Minimum 5 years of experience
• Experience with biological or drinking water processes for highly engineered processes
• Expert use of Excel for data management and analysis
• Ability to use SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Experience with BioWin or other biological process design tools
• Experience with remote teams is highly desirable
• Based in Dubai; travel of about 50% expected
