Project Manager - Airframe Systems

About the role

The Airframe Systems Project Manager will oversee end‑to‑end delivery of airframe‑related projects, including hydraulics, actuation, landing gear, fuel and environmental control systems. Reporting to senior leadership, the role coordinates engineering, procurement, manufacturing and program teams to ensure projects meet scope, schedule and budget while complying with aerospace standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, objectives and deliverables for airframe subsystems.
• Develop and maintain detailed schedules, budgets and risk registers using MS Project or Primavera.
• Lead cross‑functional teams across design, procurement, finance, legal, production, quality and ILS.
• Ensure compliance with FAA/EASA certification and MIL‑STD defense requirements.
• Support design reviews, testing campaigns and production readiness activities.
• Manage RFIs, RFPs and contractual agreements with subsystem suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance, mitigate risks and report status to senior management and clients.
• Apply PMI, Agile and Earned Value Management methodologies to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 8–12 years of aerospace/defense project management experience, specifically with airframe systems.
• Proven track record in budget control, schedule management and risk mitigation.
• PMP or equivalent certification is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and executive audiences.
