Project Manager – Architecture

About the role

Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead architectural project teams in the United Arab Emirates. The role involves close collaboration with SOM Partners to ensure design, technical and financial success across complex projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architectural project team, coordinating with partners to achieve design, technical and budgetary goals.
• Prepare and manage client agreements, service contracts, and compliance plans.
• Chair weekly team meetings, track project schedules, budgets, and profitability, and produce accurate project records.
• Oversee billing, collections, expense management, and year‑end financial activities with the project accountant.
• Mentor and supervise staff, drive talent acquisition, and support professional development.
• Manage client relationships, risk mitigation, and scope compliance, including sub‑consultant agreements.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Architecture with licensure process near completion; LEED accreditation preferred.
• Minimum six years of relevant experience leading project teams and managing schedules, budgets and programs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and a solid understanding of sustainable design principles.

Required skills

• Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, and other parametric and rendering software.
• Microsoft Office, Smartsheets, Adobe Suite, Google Workspace.
• Salesforce, Deltek Vision.
