Project Manager – Building Design, Strategy & Growth

About the role

AECOM is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join its Buildings + Places business in the Middle East. The role sits within the Strategy & Growth team and focuses on shaping and winning major building‑design commissions across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate building‑design pursuits from opportunity qualification through proposal development, commercial review and submission.
• Review RFPs and client briefs to define scope, deliverables, programme, interfaces and key risks.
• Develop delivery strategies, resource estimates and man‑hour forecasts in collaboration with Architecture, Structures, MEP and specialist disciplines.
• Support fee and commercial strategy development, balancing competitiveness with risk and return.
• Identify and mitigate project, contractual, programme and commercial risks.
• Engage with clients, present technical workshops and commercial discussions during the pursuit process.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Project Management or a related built‑environment discipline.
• Significant experience in a multidisciplinary building‑design consultancy, preferably as a Project Manager, Design Manager or within a Lead Design Consultant environment.
• Strong understanding of scope, programme, resourcing, change, risk and commercial performance.
• Proven ability to review RFPs, develop scopes of services and coordinate multidisciplinary requirements.
• Excellent client‑facing, communication and presentation skills.
• Experience in the Middle East and knowledge of regional clients and major development programmes is advantageous.
