About the role
The Project Manager is responsible for leading the full lifecycle of EPC projects—from initiation and planning through execution, commissioning, and close‑out—ensuring safe, timely, and cost‑effective delivery in alignment with client and business objectives. The role serves as the central point of accountability for project performance, overseeing scope, schedule, cost, risk, resources, and quality while maintaining a strong focus on client satisfaction and delivery excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Formulate the project team, participate in kick‑off meetings, understand scope, estimation basis, execution and subcontracting strategy and execute the project.
- Coordinate with the client Project Manager, set up project information systems and communications.
- Establish work procedures, schedules, budgets, staffing requirements, vendor lists and progress milestones in collaboration with the planning team.
- Manage technical issues with the team and client, and regularly report project progress to senior management and/or the client.
- Lead the project team to ensure safety, scope, schedule and budgets are tracked and implemented.
- Develop and maintain the project execution plan, including scope of work, deliverables, master schedule, budget, org charts and risk register.
- Hold P&L responsibility, including revenue delivery, margin, overhead management, budgeting, forecasting, risk and opportunity reviews, cost controls and cash collection.
- Negotiate changes to project scope or specifications with the client and follow change‑management processes.
- Ensure HSSE leadership, implement initiatives and audits, and address quality management issues.
Required profile
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 15 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with 5+ years in the UAE or Middle East.
- Minimum 3 years as a Project Manager on medium to large scale projects in a similar business.
- Experience managing electrical projects, preferably brownfield projects and switchgear replacement in oil and gas.
- Strong knowledge of commercial and contract conditions, procurement, and change‑control processes.
- Proven ability to manage P&L, cash flow, budgeting and forecasting.
