QA Engineer - E-commerce Automation

About the role

Al Tayer Insignia, a luxury retail group with boutiques, department stores and online platforms across the GCC, is hiring a QA Engineer in Dubai. The engineer oversees testing of software features within an in-house and outsourced team, reviewing quality of an omnichannel e-commerce website and mobile application. The role covers test planning, test cases and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Create innovative testing strategies and streamlined processes with development to reduce testing redundancy.
• Design and plan test cases for new projects based on business requirements, breaking them into positive and negative scenarios.
• Apply test cases and run integration tests in an automated manner.
• Design, program and execute automated test suites covering all major front-end functionalities of the e-commerce site across browsers.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on periodic requirement reviews so that applications are delivered flawlessly in production.
• Solve issues and errors based on understanding of the system and client business processes.
• Help define QA coding standards and frameworks, identify emerging technologies and evaluate their applicability to business goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering.
• 3+ years of software QA automation experience on web and mobile platforms (API, app and web automation).
• Ability to work with multiple cross-functional teams and in an Agile/Scrum, test-driven environment.
• Exposure to bug tracking and task management tools such as JIRA and QMETRY.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of Java, Python, SQL and XML.
• Hands-on experience building automation frameworks from scratch using BDD tools such as Cucumber, PhantomJS, Katalon (Selenium), TestNG, JUnit and REST Assured.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices with Jenkins and GitHub.
• Experience with e-commerce platforms, order management systems and search applications.
• Knowledge of JMeter scripting for performance/load testing is a plus.
