QA Engineer - E-commerce Automation

About the role

Al Tayer Group is looking for a QA Engineer in Dubai to oversee testing of software features within an in-house and outsourced team. The role covers quality review of an omnichannel e-commerce website and mobile application, including creating test plans, strategies and test cases with developers, business analysts and project managers. It relies on test automation and manual testing tools, and involves helping define QA coding standards and evaluate emerging technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop innovative testing strategies and streamlined processes with development activities to reduce testing redundancy.
• Design and plan test cases for new projects based on business requirements, breaking them down into positive and negative scenarios.
• Apply test cases and run integration tests in an automated manner.
• Design, program and execute automated test suites covering all major front-end functionalities of the e-commerce site across browsers.
• Handle a diverse range of projects from conception through implementation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on periodic requirement reviews to ensure well-defined requirements and flawless production delivery.
• Solve issues and errors based on understanding of the system and client business processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering.
• 3+ years of software QA automation experience on web and mobile platforms (API, app and web automation).
• Ability to work with multiple cross-functional teams, including business and technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable in an Agile/Scrum and test-driven environment.
• Exposure to bug tracking and task management tools such as JIRA and QMETRY.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of Java, Python, SQL and XML.
• Hands-on experience building automation frameworks from scratch using BDD tools such as Cucumber, PhantomJS, Katalon (Selenium), TestNG, JUnit and REST Assured.
• Knowledge of continuous integration practices (Jenkins, GitHub).
• Experience with e-commerce platforms, order management systems and search applications.
• Plus: JMeter scripting for performance/load testing.
