QA/QC Engineer - Water and Wastewater Treatment Projects

About the role

EMP GoWIN Global is looking for a QA/QC Engineer in Sharjah to help deliver safe, reliable and high-quality water and wastewater treatment projects. The engineer checks materials, equipment, drawings and site work against project needs and quality standards, working closely with project managers, engineers, site teams, clients and suppliers to spot and fix issues early.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and follow the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and develop Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs); review drawings, plans and work methods.
• Check materials, equipment, certificates and test reports, including incoming items, storage and care.
• Carry out site inspections and witness tests, coordinate with engineering, procurement and construction teams, and support testing, commissioning and handover.
• Keep accurate QA/QC records, prepare inspection reports and quality updates, and track NCRs and corrective actions.
• Support internal, external and client audits, ensure compliance with ISO standards, client rules and HSE requirements, and suggest improvements.
• Identify quality issues, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and report major issues to the Project Manager or Quality Manager; stop work when a major quality issue or serious safety risk arises.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in QA/QC, inspection or quality control.
• Experience in water and wastewater treatment or EPC projects preferred; MEP, civil or electro-mechanical experience is an advantage.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work with different teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO, AWWA, ASTM and BS.
• Experience preparing PQPs and ITPs, and knowledge of material, site, testing and commissioning inspections.
• Handling NCRs, corrective actions and quality reports, and knowledge of QA/QC records and audit processes.
• An ASQ certification, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification or equivalent is an advantage.
