QA/QC Manager

About the role

The QA/QC Manager will lead the MEP quality management function, ensuring that works, materials, inspections, testing and hand‑over records meet contract requirements, approved documents, applicable standards and the company’s quality management system.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement project quality plans, procedures, ITPs, checklists, inspection strategies and quality KPIs in line with ISO 9001 and client/consultant requirements.
• Lead QA/QC staffing, competency assessment and discipline coverage across mechanical and electrical work fronts.
• Review method statements, ITPs, material submittals and technical documentation for quality compliance before execution.
• Oversee MIR/WIR processes, source inspections, factory tests, installation inspections, testing records and coordinate consultant/client inspections.
• Manage NCR, SOR/punch, corrective/preventive actions and root‑cause analysis, preventing recurrence through trend analysis.
• Conduct internal audits, project surveillance and coordinate external/client/consultant audits; maintain ISO and project quality readiness.
• Verify calibration, inspection/test equipment, material traceability, approvals and quality records are current and controlled.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering and commissioning teams to ensure inspection readiness and avoid rework.
• Monitor subcontractor/supplier quality performance and enforce corrective actions for repeated defects.
• Oversee quality close‑out, snag/punch clearance, testing dossiers, O&M records and as‑built documentation for hand‑over.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of QA/QC experience in construction/MEP, with senior quality‑management responsibility on major projects.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS, ITPs, inspection/testing processes, NCR/CAPA and audit methodology.
• Extensive understanding of HVAC, plumbing, fire‑fighting, electrical and ELV installation quality requirements.
• Proven ability to lead large QA/QC teams, drive measurable reduction in rework and inspection rejection.
