Quality and Laboratory Governance Officer

About the role

The Quality and Laboratory Governance Officer will design, implement and maintain the quality assurance and governance framework for the SeaWorld Abu Dhabi diagnostic laboratory. Reporting to the Senior Laboratory Manager and escalating to the Veterinary Pathologist, the role provides independent oversight to ensure laboratory activities meet approved standards, regulatory expectations and audit requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and sustain an ISO‑aligned Quality Management System (QMS) for a veterinary and zoological diagnostic laboratory.
• Manage document control, including SOP governance, version control, workflow approvals and periodic reviews.
• Maintain comprehensive risk assessment frameworks covering laboratory processes, equipment and tasks.
• Coordinate management review processes, quality metrics reporting and governance documentation.
• Plan and conduct internal audits of laboratory processes, safety and compliance, and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Support readiness for external audits, inspections and accreditation activities.
• Identify systemic risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in laboratory quality management and governance, preferably in a veterinary or zoological setting.
• Strong knowledge of ISO standards and regulatory compliance for diagnostic laboratories.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with senior laboratory leadership.
• Excellent analytical skills to assess risks, audit findings and implement improvements.
