Quality Assurance / Quality Control Inspector

About the role

The Quality Assurance / Quality Control Inspector ensures product and process quality through inspection, testing, documentation and compliance with approved specifications, procedures and industry standards across fabrication and delivery. The inspector reports to the QC Engineer and communicates inspection findings, non-conformities and quality concerns promptly.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct stage-wise inspections of fabrication and production against approved drawings, specifications, procedures and ITPs, and document results.
• Review project requirements, drawings, client specifications and quality requirements before starting inspections.
• Inspect received materials, including identification, heat numbers, quantities, condition and Material Test Certificates, before release for fabrication.
• Monitor production, work-in-progress and welding activities; verify welders use approved WPSs and check WPS, PQR and WQR records.
• Witness welder and welding procedure qualification tests and verify welding consumable control, storage, handling and traceability.
• Plan, coordinate and witness NDT/NDE activities and maintain inspection records.
• Witness pressure and leak tests of tanks and pressure vessels, and monitor preservation, surface preparation, painting/coating and finishing.
• Verify calibration status of inspection and testing equipment.
• Record, report and follow up on non-conformities, assist in root-cause analysis and track corrective actions.
• Maintain daily QC reports, repair and rework records, punch lists, quality documentation and the final MRB / quality dossier.
• Coordinate with clients, third-party inspection agencies and certification bodies, and verify compliance with codes such as ASME, API, AWS, UL, DNV and ADNOC where applicable.
• Conduct final inspection, close punch-list items and confirm product readiness before shipment or delivery.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• QA/QC certification.
• 3-4 years of experience in the same position or field.
• Preferred: CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI; NDT Level II (PT, MT, UT or RT) is an advantage.
• Familiarity with ASME, API, AWS, DNV and client-specific requirements.

• NDT methods (PT, MT, UT, RT).
