Quality Control Inspector – Heavy Section Mill (HSM)

About the role

The Quality Control Inspector will perform in‑process, in‑line and final inspections for rolled steel sheet pile products in the Heavy Section Mill (HSM). The role ensures compliance with internal quality standards, customer specifications and international steel manufacturing codes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑line inspection and classification of rolled products, identifying and segregating non‑conforming material.
• Perform final inspections of finished products as required.
• Collect product samples for laboratory testing and carry out dimensional, surface and chemical analysis checks.
• Re‑inspect held materials after corrective actions and record inspection results.
• Enter inspection data, make usage decisions and maintain records in SAP.
• Support implementation of IMS, ISO, ASME and internal quality procedures.
• Comply with EHS policies, participate in safety initiatives and 5S activities.
• Report quality deviations and prepare routine and ad‑hoc quality reports.

Required profile

• Diploma in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering or a related science field.
• 2–5 years of quality inspection experience in an integrated steel plant.
• Strong knowledge of heavy section mill operations, sheet pile and section production.
• Familiarity with steel defects, production processes and relevant quality standards.
• Proficiency in SAP and basic computer skills.
