Quality Engineer – O&G Machine Shop

About the role

The Quality Engineer will support the O&G Machine Shop by ensuring product quality, compliance with NOV HSEQ policies, and effective supplier management. You will drive corrective and preventive actions, manage non‑conformance reports, and provide technical quality support to internal teams and external vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Identify quality needs, implement corrective/preventive actions, and close NCRs with root‑cause analysis.
• Maintain supplier FA inspection status, vendor qualification, and approval processes.
• Review and approve customer documentation, MTRs, and raw‑material test certificates.
• Coordinate calibration programs for measuring and inspection equipment.
• Conduct visual, dimensional, and NDT inspections throughout manufacturing stages.
• Train vendors and internal QC staff on inspection methods for NOV parts.
• Support audits (external, internal, supplier) and ensure communication of new or revised procedures.
• Collaborate with line manager and stakeholders to resolve quality issues.

Required profile

• Mechanical or Production engineering background.
• Experience in quality assurance within an industrial or oil‑and‑gas environment.
• Knowledge of NOV HSEQ policies and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with precision measuring instruments.

Required skills

• JDE (ERP) for NCR creation and maintenance.
• Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) and visual inspection.
• Dimensional inspection and use of precision measuring instruments.
• Calibration of measuring and inspection equipment.
• Welding certification and NDE requirements.
• FA inspection and vendor qualification processes.
• Root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action implementation.
