Quality Specialist

About the role

The Quality Specialist will support the development, implementation and maintenance of quality assurance programmes in a nuclear environment. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, drives continuous improvement and collaborates closely with engineering, operations and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development, implementation and maintenance of QA programmes in line with nuclear regulations and industry standards.
• Conduct internal audits, inspections and assessments to verify compliance with procedures, specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Review quality documentation such as inspection records, test reports and supplier qualifications.
• Assist in root‑cause analysis of non‑conformances and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Monitor supplier performance and participate in vendor audits as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and project teams to ensure quality expectations are met.
• Maintain accurate QA records and ensure proper document‑control processes.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance quality, safety and operational performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Nuclear Technology or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in quality assurance or quality control within the nuclear industry or other regulated technical environments.
• Knowledge of NQA‑1, ISO 9001, DOE O 414.1 or similar nuclear quality standards.
• Strong understanding of inspection methods, QA documentation and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience with audits, NCR/CAPA processes and supplier quality management.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
