Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure (Dubai)

About the role

Khatib & Alami is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its Consultancy Supervision Team in Dubai. The role involves quantity surveying, cost control, contract administration, valuations, variations and commercial management for major infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs and tender documentation.
• Perform detailed measurement and verification of quantities for infrastructure works.
• Review contractor interim payment applications and prepare payment certificates.
• Evaluate variations, change orders, claims and additional works.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, commitments and financial progress.
• Assist with cost forecasting and monthly commercial reporting.
• Review and assess contractor claims in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of quantities, variations, payments and commercial correspondence.
• Assist in the preparation and evaluation of final accounts.
• Provide commercial and contractual advice to the Project Manager and supervision team.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, consultants and client representatives on commercial matters.
• Monitor contractual compliance and identify potential commercial risks.
• Attend progress and commercial meetings and provide quantity surveying input.
• Ensure all commercial activities follow project procedures, contract conditions and applicable UAE standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of overall experience in Quantity Surveying.
• At least 7 years of UAE experience in infrastructure projects.
• Experience in roads, highways, utilities, drainage or related civil works (preferred).
• Mandatory consultancy experience.
• Strong experience in BOQ, measurement, valuations, variations, claims and contract administration.
• Good knowledge of FIDIC contracts and UAE construction practices.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure project cost control and commercial management.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and relevant quantity‑surveying/commercial software.
• Excellent communication, coordination, negotiation and analytical skills.
