Quantity Surveyor - Roads and Infrastructure

About the role

Parsons is looking for a Quantity Surveyor (Roads and Infrastructure) to join its team. The role covers estimating costs and managing the budgets of roads, infrastructure and landscaping projects.

Key responsibilities

• Estimate project costs and manage budgets, reviewing monthly contractor invoices against KPIs and preparing submittals.
• Review claims, prepare submittals and handle variation orders.
• Maintain asset control records and carry out post-contract functions such as interim and final payments, variations, commercial and contractual correspondence, cash flow and claims.
• Advise on contractual matters, contractor resource allocation and the completeness and validity of contractual requirements.
• Audit contractor payments, verify remeasurement works and check that valuations are complete and submitted promptly.
• Check and record the work done, prepare variations and day works, and monitor the final cost estimate.
• Record expenditure, review and negotiate claim settlements, coordinate the team and prepare monthly financial statements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
• At least 8 years of experience in quantity surveying and contract administration of roads and maintenance works.
• Thorough knowledge of CESMM E and FIDIC.
• UAE/GCC experience.

Required skills

• Standard estimating activities typical of engineering and construction.
• Understanding of construction contract commercial documents, drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with project controls software and DMCS (Document and Materials Control System).
• AutoCAD and Microsoft Office/Excel.
• Excellent oral and written English and clear communication with management and staff.
