R&D Engineer – Product Development (Busbar Trunking)

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic R&D / Product Development Engineer to drive innovation and enhance our busbar trunking product line. You will shape future offerings, ensuring they meet market demands, industry standards, and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Define product specifications, features, and functionalities while complying with safety and regulatory standards.
• Develop product designs according to IEC61439, UL857, and internal product standards.
• Create 3D models and 2D drafts, applying GD&T and first/third‑angle projection.
• Collaborate with external suppliers to source components and materials.
• Follow the NPDI process, complete documentation, and manage engineering change orders.
• Conduct DFMEA risk assessments and organize drawing libraries for efficient reference.
• Build prototypes, stay current with technological advances, and support product launches.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, design technology, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of design experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with power distribution or data‑center applications is a plus.
• Proven ability to design mild‑steel sheet welded assemblies and extruded/injection‑molded plastic parts.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive problem‑solver able to work independently or within a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 3D modelling using Creo, SolidWorks or equivalent.
• 2D drafting (first‑angle and third‑angle projection) and GD&T.
• Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software.
• Knowledge of DFMEA, DFM, and DFA methodologies.
