Registered Midwife

About the role

The Registered Midwife will provide and coordinate patient‑centric, evidence‑based midwifery care, ensuring compliance with ethical and professional standards set by regulatory authorities and Mediclinic.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver quality care to antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum women and neonates in collaboration with the multi‑professional team.
• Ensure patient safety by identifying, preventing and managing risks in line with clinical risk policies and legislation.
• Facilitate positive patient and family experiences by creating a conducive environment guided by nursing leadership.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions according to company standards and legal requirements.
• Contribute to a learning environment by supervising, mentoring and coaching learners and nursing staff.
• Utilise required stock and equipment efficiently following Mediclinic guidelines.

Required profile

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree in midwifery or related field.
• Valid BLS and NRP certifications.
• Minimum two years of midwifery experience in the candidate’s home country.

Required skills

• Computer literacy with Microsoft Suite.
• Knowledge of patient safety standards.
