Registered Nurse – Children's Health Care

About the role

A childcare centre is looking for a registered nurse to organize daily medical care for children within the framework of its current license. The nurse maintains medical records, provides first aid, monitors medical supplies and helps prevent infectious diseases. The start date is to be confirmed.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily examinations of children to assess their general health and spot early signs of illness, and examine children during morning reception and when a teacher calls about a sick child.
• Assess children who are ill or injured, provide first aid, run emergency procedures and transfer children to medical services when needed.
• Organize a child's stay in an isolation zone if an infectious disease is suspected.
• Monitor and document medications according to DHA procedures and with written parental consent, and keep medical records, vaccination data, incidents, allergies and chronic diseases.
• Ensure confidentiality of medical information and prepare documentation for DHA audits.
• Keep the medical office, first aid kits and medication expiry dates ready, and monitor the receipt, storage and distribution of food to children in line with sanitary requirements.
• Respect individual dietary restrictions, allergies and special diets, label and serve such dishes separately, and liaise with the food supplier on quality, safety and temperature.
• Check the sanitary condition of the premises, coordinate nannies and cleaning staff with cleaning and disinfection schedules, and monitor staff hygiene and infection safety.
• Train the team on first aid, infection prevention, food safety and health and safety.

Required profile

• Current DHA Registered Nurse license or proof of eligibility, with willingness to complete the process before starting.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Nursing experience, preferably with children in a kindergarten, school nurse's office or pediatric clinic.
• Strong English for documentation and communication with DHA, parents and the team.

Required skills

• First aid principles and infection control.
• Drug handling and emergency response.
