Registered Nurse – Long Term Care Unit

About the role

The Royal Hospital Sharjah is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Long Term Care Unit (LTCU). The role involves delivering comprehensive, patient‑centered care to adult and pediatric patients in a long‑term care setting while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct systematic patient assessments, develop and evaluate individualized care plans, and monitor vital signs and clinical status.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and provide wound‑care management, ensuring timely detection of adverse reactions.
• Assist in invasive and non‑invasive medical procedures, operate cardiac monitors, ventilators and infusion pumps.
• Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, maintaining continuity of care with physicians and allied health professionals.
• Respond to emergencies, perform BLS, ACLS, PALS and neonatal resuscitation as required.
• Mentor and train new staff on long‑term care protocols and participate in quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Valid registered nurse license issued by the relevant UAE health authority.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Willingness to work across departments and be on call when needed.
• Ability to manage professional re‑licensure independently.
