Regulatory Counsel – Middle East

About the role

Airwallex is seeking a Regulatory Counsel to join its Regulatory Legal team and provide expert legal guidance across the Middle East. Based in the United Arab Emirates or Israel, you will help shape the company’s expansion by navigating complex payments and financial‑services regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Advise internal stakeholders on regulatory matters affecting payments and financial services in key Middle Eastern markets.
• Support the build‑out, maintenance, and renewal of licensing and registration portfolios across the region.
• Implement appropriate measures and controls to ensure compliance with local and cross‑border regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate closely with Product Legal, Regulatory Compliance, Financial Crime Compliance, and other teams to deliver compliant financial products at scale.
• Participate in strategic, high‑visibility projects with global impact and influence business‑critical decisions.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in regulatory law, preferably within payments or financial‑services sectors.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks in Middle Eastern jurisdictions.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
