Senior Construction Lawyer – In‑house 6‑month Secondment

About the role
We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our client on a six‑month in‑house secondment in Abu Dhabi. The role will provide hands‑on legal support for large‑scale residential and commercial construction projects across the Emirates.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate FIDIC and bespoke construction contracts, consultancy agreements, procurement documentation and tender packages.
- Advise project, commercial and technical teams on disputes, claims, delay matters and risk mitigation.
- Interpret and apply UAE construction and development regulatory frameworks.
- Manage multiple concurrent legal matters with autonomy and commercial focus.
Required profile
- 5+ years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in a common‑law or recognised regional jurisdiction.
- Strong front‑end construction experience, preferably in‑house or on secondment within construction, infrastructure or real‑estate organisations.
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are a strong advantage.
- Ability to work independently on a fixed‑term assignment in the Middle East.
Required skills
- FIDIC contract drafting and negotiation.
- Construction contract and consultancy agreement drafting.
- Procurement documentation and tender package preparation.
- Dispute, claim and delay advisory within construction projects.
- Knowledge of UAE construction regulatory frameworks.
