Research Assistant Fellow – Psychology in Political and Economic Systems

About the role

NYU Abu Dhabi seeks a Kawader Research Assistant Fellow to join the Psychology in Political and Economic Systems (PIPES) Lab under Dr. Jennifer Sheehy‑Skeffington. The position supports interdisciplinary research on how psychological processes interact with societal conditions such as inequality, political polarization, and market integration.

Key responsibilities

• Design research protocols, experimental scripts, and collect human‑subjects data in lab and online settings.
• Clean and analyze data using SPSS or R, and contribute to academic manuscripts and literature reviews.
• Prepare and oversee IRB protocols, ensure ethical compliance, and monitor open‑science practices.
• Coordinate lab meetings, research discussions, conferences, and manage project budgets and milestones.
• Hire and supervise undergraduate research assistants.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology or a related field.
• Experience with statistical software (SPSS or R) and experimental tools (e.g., Qualtrics).
• Intellectual engagement with the PIPES Lab research agenda and familiarity with IRB processes.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, interpersonal, and communication skills.
