About the role
The Center for Smart Engineering Materials (CSEM) at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking a Kawader Research Assistant to support experimental and modeling work on thermal and mechanical behavior of advanced smart materials.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, characterize, and test new smart materials using thermal and mechanical techniques.
- Conduct experiments, process data, and present findings in articles and conferences.
- Submit bi‑weekly research reports and participate in group seminars.
- Train capstone students, interns, and other researchers on relevant techniques.
Required profile
- Background in mechanical engineering, solid‑state physics, chemistry, or materials science.
- Experience with experimental and/or modeling work on thermal and mechanical properties of solids.
- Strong publication record in engineering or science.
Required skills
- Thermal characterization of materials.
- Mechanical characterization of materials.
- Experimental techniques for material testing.
- Modeling of material behavior under temperature variations.
