Resident Engineer - Civil OHL

About the role

As a Resident Engineer – Civil for overhead transmission line (OHL) projects, you will be the on‑site technical leader responsible for delivering civil works from initiation through close‑out. You will ensure that all activities meet project objectives, schedules, budgets and the highest safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead EPC civil works on‑site, supervising contractors and managing daily OHL construction activities.
• Inspect, approve and certify earthworks, tower foundations, access roads and drainage in accordance with approved drawings, method statements and Inspection & Test Plans.
• Review and approve civil drawings, shop drawings, material submittals and geotechnical reports.
• Ensure strict compliance with HSE regulations and UAE/TAQA safety requirements, conducting audits and promoting a safety‑first culture.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, attend progress meetings and produce daily/weekly progress reports.
• Obtain and manage permits/NOCs, handle RFIs and NCRs, and maintain comprehensive site documentation.
• Oversee procurement of materials, equipment and services, and verify measurements for project close‑out.
• Provide technical guidance to the project team, resolve disputes and mitigate risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in civil works for overhead transmission line projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE construction codes, HSE standards and TAQA safety regulations.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
