Resident Engineer – Dubai

About the role

WSP is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to lead site supervision for major structural and infrastructure projects across the UAE. The role combines technical oversight, stakeholder coordination, and quality assurance to ensure successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead construction supervision activities for assigned projects.
• Develop and implement a construction management plan aligned with contract standards.
• Manage all contract correspondence with clients and contractors.
• Organise and chair kick‑off, progress, and management meetings, recording outcomes.
• Establish procedures for inspections, testing, and commissioning as per contract requirements.
• Review and enforce the contractor’s HSE plan on site.
• Evaluate contractor programmes for detail, resource allocation, and cash‑flow compliance.
• Monitor construction progress, conduct QMS audits, and ensure timely liaison with authorities.
• Certify interim and final payments after thorough review.
• Prepare substantial completion reports and issue taking‑over and defects liability certificates.

Required profile

• BEng or BSc (Hons) in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 20 years of experience managing large‑scale building projects, including high‑rise, luxury hotels, residential complexes, and commercial buildings.
• Prior UAE consulting experience with strong knowledge of local regulations.
• Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
