Retail Support Staff – Customer Service & Sales

About the role

The Support Staff role at ACE Hardware ensures a clean, organized and inviting store environment while delivering high‑level customer service. You will use product knowledge and selling techniques to drive sales and support the overall store performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide courteous, knowledgeable assistance to customers across all product categories.
• Maintain tidy, well‑stocked store areas and ensure visual merchandising standards are met.
• Operate the point‑of‑sale (POS) system accurately, handling cash and card transactions.
• Apply selling techniques and product knowledge to achieve sales targets and generate add‑on sales.
• Assist with receiving deliveries, unpacking and displaying merchandise according to procedures.
• Follow pricing and ticketing guidelines to ensure correct customer pricing.
• Participate in stock takes, new store openings and seasonal product launches as required.

Required profile

• Completion of secondary school education.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a retail environment.
• Familiarity with store operations and POS systems.
• Ability to learn and apply merchandising principles after training.
