Room Technician – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

The Room Technician is responsible for responding to guest repair requests and performing routine maintenance throughout the hotel. This role ensures that all guestroom and public area equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting a high standard of hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests, troubleshoot and fix issues with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other room equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspections of tools, kitchen, and mechanical room equipment.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and communicate daily activities to the next shift.
• Carry out minor painting, drywall, wood trim repairs, and landscaping tasks, following lockout/tagout safety procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, painting, or hotel engineering.
• Valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Air‑conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Electrical wiring, switches, outlets, and lighting.
• Plumbing repairs such as unclogging drains and fixing toilets.
• Carpentry, painting, drywall and trim work.
• Kitchen equipment and vehicle maintenance.
• Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
• Basic computer skills for HVAC scheduling and temperature adjustments.
