Room Technician

About the role

The Room Technician responds to guest repair requests and performs preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room assets at our Dubai Marriott property.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest maintenance issues, communicate solutions, and log daily activities for shift handover.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspections of equipment.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves and utility shut‑offs for buildings.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts, and ensure proper use of lockout/tagout procedures.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, and landscaping tasks.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, painting, or hotel engineering is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb unassisted and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and reaching overhead.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and pneumatic/electronic systems.
• Carpentry, kitchen equipment handling, and energy‑conservation practices.
• Painting, drywall, wood‑trim repair, and landscaping maintenance.
• Use of lockout/tagout safety system and basic computer input for schedules.
