ROV Inspector

About the role

The ROV Inspector will ensure that all remotely operated vehicle (ROV) systems and associated survey equipment meet the required standards of the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), NMDC Group and our clients. Working primarily onboard vessels, the role involves overseeing installation, commissioning and the safe operation of ROV units throughout their deployment cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Verify that ROV systems and survey equipment comply with OEM, company and client specifications.
• Supervise installation, commissioning and operational readiness of ROV units on board vessels.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑mobilisation checks to confirm system functionality before deployment.
• Prepare, review and submit ROV dossiers and audit documentation for client approval.
• Monitor ROV performance, troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate resolutions with relevant departments.
• Manage safe mobilisation, demobilisation and storage of ROV equipment following HSE protocols.
• Execute main‑lift operations and tether terminations while adhering to safety requirements.
• Conduct electrical and hydraulic tests to verify system integrity.
• Maintain accurate records of operations, inspections, maintenance and issues.
• Attend client inspections onboard, ensuring compliance and professional relationships.
• Ensure compliance with internal QA/QC standards and submit audit documentation on time.
• Monitor inventory and housekeeping to sustain system readiness.
• Provide guidance to ROV operators and technicians, conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in ROV installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with offshore vessel environments and HSE procedures.
• Ability to prepare technical documentation and audit dossiers.
• Strong problem‑solving skills for troubleshooting ROV performance issues.
