Safety Assistant

About the role

GECO M&E LTD is looking for a Safety Assistant to support its Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) team across construction, MEP, electrical and industrial projects in Dubai. The role involves assisting with daily safety activities, monitoring compliance and promoting a strong safety culture on site.

Key responsibilities

• Support the HSE team in implementing daily site safety activities.
• Monitor compliance with workplace safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with Permit to Work (PTW) processes and conduct site safety inspections.
• Promote proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and conduct Toolbox Talks.
• Observe and report unsafe conditions and work practices.
• Maintain safety records, reports and related documentation.
• Support implementation of health and safety standards across project sites.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in HSE, Engineering or a related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant site safety experience.
• NEBOSH, IOSH or OSHA certification is an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Familiarity with Permit to Work (PTW) procedures.
• Experience delivering Toolbox Talks and safety awareness activities.
• Understanding of site safety procedures and standards.
