Safety Engineer – Site HSE Specialist

About the role

A Dubai‑based company is seeking a Safety Engineer to oversee site safety practices and ensure regulatory compliance across its projects. The role involves implementing HSE procedures, managing Permit‑to‑Work protocols, and conducting regular safety audits to protect workers and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce adherence to project HSE plans, regulatory policies, and occupational safety codes.
• Conduct site inspections to evaluate hazard controls, identify safety breaches, and enforce corrective actions.
• Assess risk assessments, method statements, and issue Permits to Work (PTW) for high‑risk activities.
• Lead incident/accident investigations, determine root causes, and submit regulatory compliance reports.
• Deliver daily toolbox talks, host safety awareness sessions, and foster a site‑wide zero‑harm safety culture.
• Prepare and submit HSE performance reports to senior management.
• Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline; NEBOSH IGC certification is mandatory.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on HSE engineering experience on site within the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of UAE safety regulations, risk assessments, method statements, Permit‑to‑Work systems, incident reporting, and safety auditing.
