Safety Officer - Hotel

About the role

A Rixos hotel in Ras Al Khaimah is looking for a Safety Officer on a full-time basis. The role covers developing and maintaining safety policies, running inspections and audits, investigating incidents and supporting staff and guests in a safe, clean and compliant environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain safety policies and procedures in line with local, national and international regulations.
• Carry out regular safety inspections, risk assessments and audits, and investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses with detailed reports and recommendations.
• Lead safety training for employees and act as the point of contact for all safety matters.
• Collaborate with management on safety improvement plans and keep accurate records of incidents, training and corrective actions.
• Ensure PPE and other safety gear are available and used properly.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the pool and keep pool equipment and facilities safe and functional.
• Support quality and service standards, coach team members, attend daily briefings and stay alert to emergencies.

Required profile

• At least 2 years' experience in a similar Safety Officer or HSE role, preferably in luxury hospitality.
• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field (preferred).
• Good communication skills in English, with the ability to train and guide employees.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to safety.

Required skills

• Knowledge of health, safety and risk management regulations and best practices.
• Experience of safety inspections, risk assessments, audits and incident investigations.
• Ability to write clear safety reports, corrective action plans and compliance documentation.
• Knowledge of PPE requirements, emergency response procedures and safety training delivery.
