School Accountant – Immediate Start

About the role

We are looking for a School Accountant to join Al Ghad Charter School in Abu Dhabi with an immediate start. The role supports the Senior Manager in financial reporting, ensuring compliance with UAE VAT law and ADEK regulations while maintaining accurate accounting records for the school.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the General Ledger with correct GL code assignments for all transactions.
• Process supplier payments, perform vendor reconciliations and prepare accounts payable vouchers.
• Post monthly journal entries in the ERP system after review and approval.
• Reconcile monthly payroll against costing sheets and submit reports to ADEK.
• Track staff CTC and EOS benefits in the ADEK‑required format.
• Monitor budgets, purchase orders and procurement requirements for alignment with approved spending plans.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and manage unreconciled items.
• Coordinate month‑end closing activities and submit comprehensive reports to ADEK on time.

Required profile

• Experience in school or educational institution accounting.
• Knowledge of UAE VAT law and ADEK financial reporting requirements.
• Ability to work with senior finance managers and adhere to strict reporting timelines.
