School Bus Driver (Full‑time)

About the role

The Aquila School is seeking a dedicated full‑time School Bus Driver to ensure the safe transport of pupils to and from school each day. This role is vital to our commitment to safeguarding children and providing a supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Transport children to and from school in the mornings and afternoons.
• Verify permissions for children who ride home with friends.
• Maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus at all times.
• Obey all traffic laws and perform pre‑ and post‑route inspections.
• Ensure the safety of all students on board.
• Discipline children when required to maintain a safe environment.
• Assist students with boarding and alighting as needed.
• Attend monthly safety meetings and carry out any additional tasks assigned by the school or regional office.
• Keep RTA approvals up to date and carry documentation on all trips.

Required profile

• Valid RTA approvals and a clean driving record.
• Ability to conduct thorough vehicle inspections.
• Willingness to undergo criminal background checks covering the past ten years.
• Commitment to the school’s safeguarding and health‑and‑safety policies.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends.
