School Nurse

About the role

Taaleem is seeking a qualified School Nurse to join its founding team and support the health and wellbeing of students. The role involves managing health‑related issues, ensuring compliance with UAE health authorities, and fostering a safe, healthy learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑aid, administer medication, vaccines and other treatments to students.
• Monitor lunch boxes and school canteen food to promote healthy eating.
• Maintain DHA/HAAD compliance, manage approvals, and compile health statistics.
• Ensure First Aid kits are stocked and functional.
• Conduct school medical examinations for designated year groups.
• Communicate health and safety matters with parents and the Children’s Health department.
• Administer DHA/HAAD‑approved vaccinations.
• Support children with specific health needs, such as diabetes.
• Participate in the Health and Safety Committee and collaborate on child protection initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered nursing qualification approved by DHA/HAAD.
• Minimum three years of nursing experience in a hospital or school clinic setting.
• Strong knowledge of primary health care for children and families.
• Ability to advise staff on effective health‑care practices for young people.
• Caring, empathetic, non‑judgmental and approachable demeanor.
• Excellent communication skills and a high degree of confidentiality.
