Science Teacher - Maternity Cover (January 2027)

About the role

Cranleigh Abu Dhabi, part of Aldar Education, is recruiting a Science Teacher to join its team in January 2027 as maternity cover. The school sits in Saadiyat Island's Cultural District and offers a broad academic curriculum alongside a wide range of co-curricular activities. The post is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Work with colleagues to plan engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements and liaise with parents to support students' academic success
• Plan, prepare and deliver lessons for all ability levels, organise classroom resources and displays, and observe and assess students in line with school policy
• Reflect on teaching and student progress and adjust provision and the curriculum accordingly
• Collaborate with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists when needed
• Take responsibility for a class's academic progress, use assessment data to inform planning and intervention, and give parents feedback at parent-teacher conferences
• Manage classes effectively, follow the behaviour policy and act as a positive role model
• Take part in curriculum action groups, school events and activities, including on weekends or evenings, and communicate with parents through school systems such as CPOMS

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related subject with PGCE or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in the English National Curriculum
• Experience in more than one international school is desirable
• Strong interpersonal skills, resilience, ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to continuing professional development
