Science Teacher - Middle School (Grades 7-9)

About the role

An international school in Sharjah, UAE, is looking for a Chemistry or Biology specialist to teach Science across Grades 7-9 under the Australian Curriculum. The school offers an international learning environment focused on scientific knowledge, practical skills and critical thinking. The start date is August 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Science lessons that build students' knowledge and practical skills.
• Contribute to the development of Science teaching across the middle school.
• Support students' academic progress and wellbeing.
• Be flexible to contribute across subjects as required.

Required profile

• A recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE, QTS or equivalent teaching licence.
• A degree in Science, Chemistry, Biology or a related subject.
• Experience teaching Science at middle school level, ideally across Grades 7-9.
• Strong subject knowledge and understanding of effective teaching and assessment practices.
• Interest in the IB Diploma Programme, with experience or willingness to develop professionally in this area.

Required skills

• Specialism in Chemistry or Biology, with the flexibility to teach across the middle school Science curriculum.
• Strong communication, collaboration and organisational skills.
• Interest in professional growth and leadership opportunities, including potential Head of Department positions.

• Salary of AED 10,000-16,500 per month depending on experience and qualifications.
