Secondary English/Drama Teacher - Immediate Start

About the role

GEMS World Academy Abu Dhabi, an IB World School on Al Reem Island, is looking for an outstanding Secondary English/Drama Teacher to join its team immediately. Experience teaching within the IB framework is welcomed, but teachers with British curriculum experience are also encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging inquiry-based English/Drama lessons that inspire critical thinking and global awareness.
• Create an inclusive classroom where students feel challenged, supported and empowered.
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students.
• Assess and monitor student progress using data to inform teaching.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop the IB curriculum and share best practice.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Contribute to co-curricular activities, school productions, enrichment opportunities and professional learning.
• Uphold the values of GEMS Education and the IB Learner Profile.

Required profile

• A recognised teaching qualification at degree level (B.Ed, PGCE, State Teaching License or equivalent) in English, Drama or a similar field.
• At least three years of successful experience teaching Secondary English/Drama, preferably in an IB or British curriculum setting.
• Experience or confidence in inquiry-based, student-centred learning.
• Passion for inspiring creativity, confidence and self-expression through drama.
