Section Engineer – Construction Projects

About the role

The Section Engineer is responsible for supervising, coordinating and controlling construction activities within an assigned section of a high‑rise building project. The role ensures that works are carried out in line with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise Site Engineers, General Foremen and subcontractors to ensure proper deployment of manpower, materials, plant and equipment.
• Monitor daily site activities, productivity targets and planned sequences, resolving technical and construction issues promptly.
• Coordinate with the Construction Manager and Planning team to align site work with the overall project schedule and report potential delays.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily progress reports, manpower logs and equipment deployment.
• Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures, inspection test plans and quality standards, coordinating inspections and approvals.
• Work closely with the Safety Officer to enforce HSE requirements, method statements and risk assessments on site.
• Manage material storage, handling and usage, verify availability and support cost‑control initiatives.
• Participate in client and consultant inspections, support sectional handover, snag clearance and final completion documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in civil construction projects, preferably high‑rise building works.
• Proven experience managing a project section, supervising site teams and subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, method statements and project scheduling.
• Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, inspection test plans and HSE regulations.
