Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Senior Accountant to join our finance team and support the accounting operations of a leading legal services firm. The role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with UAE regulations, and providing strategic financial insights.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with UAE accounting standards.
• Oversee cash‑flow management, budgeting and financial forecasting to aid strategic decisions.
• Handle client billing, invoicing and revenue recognition for legal services and retainers.
• Coordinate audit activities and prepare schedules for internal and external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations, including filing returns.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering high performance and accuracy.
• Develop and enforce financial policies, internal controls and procedures.
• Produce profitability reports by case/client and support management with financial analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA or CMA is a plus.
• 5‑8 years of accounting experience in the UAE, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations.
• High integrity, attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
