Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Abu Dhabi office. The role will lead the general ledger function, ensure accurate month‑end and year‑end closings, and provide financial insights to senior leadership within the oil and gas sector.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Manage end‑to‑end accounting for oil & gas trading operations, including revenue recognition, inventory and cost allocations.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and fixed‑asset accounting (capitalization, depreciation, impairment).
• Monitor project expenditures, joint‑venture billings and production cost allocations.
• Handle local tax filings (VAT and Corporate Tax) and support internal and external audits.
• Coordinate with internal departments, external auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Drive process improvements and maintain strong internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA or CMA strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of general accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the oil and gas or energy sector.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems, specifically Odoo.
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
• Experience with VAT and corporate tax compliance.
