Senior Aerodynamics Engineer – Missiles

About the role

ADVANCED CONCEPTS, an entity within EDGE Group, focuses on designing and deploying cutting‑edge autonomous systems, including high‑altitude UAVs, precision loitering munitions and cruise missiles. The Senior Aerodynamics Engineer will lead the aerodynamic design and optimisation of missile airframes, ensuring performance across trans‑sonic and supersonic regimes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and optimisation of missile fuselage, wings and control surfaces.
• Integrate aerodynamic considerations throughout the missile development process.
• Apply high‑speed aerodynamics, flight dynamics and jet‑propulsion knowledge to guide projects.
• Use control theory to ensure stability and optimise missile performance.
• Conduct trade‑off studies, sensitivity analysis and multidisciplinary design optimisation (MDO).
• Establish infrastructure, tools and labs and support the chief engineer with technical contributions.
• Mentor junior engineers (Engineer I, Engineer II).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the UAS industry, including at least 3 years in a senior or team‑lead role.
• Knowledge of guided weapons and missile conceptual design is preferred.
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
