Senior Architectural Lighting Designer – Remote

About the role

Our client is a high‑end UAE‑based interior design, fit‑out and consultancy firm delivering bespoke luxury spaces across the MENA region. They are seeking a highly creative and technically experienced Senior Architectural Lighting Designer who can transform architecture, interiors, landscape and hospitality environments through light.

Key responsibilities

• Develop architectural lighting concepts, design narratives and strategies for luxury residential, hospitality and leisure projects.
• Prepare lighting layouts, reflected ceiling plans, concept presentations and detailed lighting drawings.
• Select luminaires, optics and define technical requirements such as CCT, CRI and light output.
• Coordinate lighting with architecture, interiors, landscape and MEP systems.
• Review lux calculations, photometric studies, technical submittals and propose lighting alternatives.
• Prepare luminaire specifications, fixture schedules and lighting BOQs.
• Coordinate lighting controls, dimming and scene‑setting requirements.
• Provide guidance to junior designers and calculation teams while maintaining design intent throughout all project stages.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of professional experience in architectural lighting design, preferably on luxury residential, hospitality and high‑end interior projects.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating work on luxury residences, hotels, resorts, restaurants, landscape, façades and high‑end interiors.
• Experience with Middle East/GCC or international projects is a strong advantage.
• Proficiency in DIALux Evo or Relux, AutoCAD and Adobe Photoshop/InDesign for presentation.
• Knowledge of Revit, BIM, SketchUp or 3ds Max is advantageous.
• Solid technical knowledge of photometry, IES/LDT files, lux levels, uniformity, glare, beam distribution, CCT, CRI and lighting controls.
• Good understanding of architectural lighting details and relevant international standards.
