Senior CAD Drafting Modeler (Utilities)

About the role

Parsons is looking for a Senior CAD Drafting Modeler (Utilities) based in Abu Dhabi to develop, coordinate and manage high-quality utility CAD models and drawings that support the multidisciplinary design and delivery of major infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D models for utilities and road networks, and generate plans, elevations, sections, details and shop drawings.
• Develop and review TPD planning approval drawings, including service corridors, utility routes and road layouts.
• Create and refine service corridor designs with engineering teams, and lead and guide modelers and CAD technicians, assigning tasks and checking work for quality and compliance.
• Provide training and mentoring on CAD tools and drafting standards, and help establish best practices and workflows.
• Coordinate the flow of technical documents between project operations, engineering disciplines, site teams and other support groups, and verify technical information against site configuration.
• Maintain filing systems and computerized indexes for engineering and CAD documents, and ensure drawings comply with project specifications, codes, Abu Dhabi authority standards and Parsons' CAD standards.
• Help resolve design and documentation issues, manage interfaces and changes on roads and networks projects, and attend project and coordination meetings.

Required profile

• Diploma in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 7 years of experience in a similar role in infrastructure, utilities, roads and networks.
• Experience supervising a CAD team and training them.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• Desired: degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, experience with Abu Dhabi standards, and previous work on large-scale roads and utilities projects in the UAE or GCC.

Required skills

• Strong practical experience in 2D drafting for utilities and road networks.
• Demonstrated experience with TPD planning approval drawings.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and under pressure.
