Senior Civil/Structural Designer – Onshore

About the role

KBR is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Designer to join its onshore engineering team in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality civil and structural design deliverables for oil & gas facilities, ensuring compliance with international codes and client standards.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for steel structures, concrete foundations, underground services, roads, and drainage.
• Develop and maintain 3D models using AVEVA E3D, AVEVA S3D, PDS or equivalent software.
• Prepare general arrangement, reinforcement, fabrication drawings and bar‑bending schedules.
• Coordinate with civil/structural engineers to reflect design calculations accurately.
• Interface with piping, mechanical, electrical and other disciplines to resolve clashes and ensure design consistency.
• Perform clash detection, support model reviews, and incorporate design changes.
• Review junior designers’ work for quality and consistency.
• Assist in material take‑off preparation from drawings and models.

Required profile

• 10–12 years of civil/structural design experience in oil & gas or petrochemical projects.
• Experience across Concept Select, FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC and brownfield phases.
• Background with ADNOC, ARAMCO or comparable major Middle‑East operators.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting or related discipline.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AVEVA E3D / AVEVA S3D.
• Experience using PDS or equivalent 3D modeling tools.
• Knowledge of international design codes (AISC, ACI, BS, Eurocodes).
• Strong 2D drafting and 3D modeling capabilities.
