Senior Civil/Structural Engineer - Nuclear Facilities

About the role

A Senior Civil/Structural Engineer is sought to ensure the structural integrity of nuclear facilities, including reactor buildings, containment structures and secondary support buildings. The engineer's analysis is critical to licensing and long-term operational safety.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for steel and concrete structures subjected to heavy loads, seismic events and other extreme conditions.
• Use Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software to model complex structures and validate them against codes such as ACI, AISC and ASCE 7.
• Prepare and review design calculations, technical reports and construction drawings for nuclear infrastructure projects.
• Evaluate existing structures for renovation or upgrade and develop strengthening solutions.
• Support construction in the field, reviewing contractor submittals and resolving design issues.
• Work with geotechnical engineers to design and analyse foundations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering; PE and SE licenses are highly preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive structural engineering experience, with a strong preference for nuclear, power or heavy industrial projects.
• In-depth knowledge of building codes and standards, with specific experience in seismic analysis and design.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced FEA software such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000 or ANSYS.
• AutoCAD and Revit.
