Senior Commissioning Engineer – Process

About the role

The Senior Commissioning Engineer – Process will lead commissioning activities for oil and gas processing facilities, applying best practices to improve the discipline across projects. Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, the role supports the Principal Commissioning Engineer and mentors less‑experienced colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in walk‑down inspections, punch listing, and testing of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation components on site.
• Develop and maintain commissioning manuals, start‑up spares, first fills, consumables, and start‑up procedures.
• Perform equipment system checks, function testing, and resolve operational issues during commissioning, start‑up and performance testing.
• Supervise craft personnel and coordinate activities with other engineers, the client, and construction/fabrication teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent) with 8‑15 years of oil & gas experience.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a chemical, refinery or oil & gas processing facility and at least 2 years of commissioning and start‑up experience.
• Strong communication skills in English and ability to travel to international construction sites.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
• Hands‑on knowledge of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation system testing and commissioning procedures.
