Senior Compliance Quality Assurance Officer – Banking

About the role

The Senior Compliance Quality Assurance Officer will lead detailed compliance reviews for a banking client in Sharjah. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the role ensures that policies, processes, and controls meet regulatory and internal standards across onboarding, trade finance, sanctions, and AML activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive compliance reviews and coordinate schedules with key stakeholders.
• Lead assurance activities in high‑risk areas such as PEPs, correspondent relationships, and trade finance.
• Supervise KYC monitoring, account restrictions, closures, and upgrade/downgrade processes.
• Analyse data to identify compliance gaps and recommend improvements.
• Prepare and present assurance reports, dashboards, and management reports for the Compliance and Board Risk Committee.
• Collaborate with business heads to implement permanent solutions and escalate critical issues to the Head of Compliance.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in banking compliance, particularly in high‑risk assurance activities.
• Proven ability to make critical decisions on compliance observations and recommendations.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on data‑driven insights.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of KYC, AML, sanctions screening, and PEP monitoring.
• Experience with compliance reporting and dashboard creation.
• Familiarity with banking processes such as trade finance and account management.
